Dec2014_HAVE YOUR SAY ON DAYBORO AND MOUNT MEE ROADS

Road safety and boosting local tourism are the priorities as local MPs call for residents to have their say into an action plan for Dayboro Road and Mount Mee Road.
The survey can be completed online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/dayboromountmee
or copies can be obtained from any of the MPs Electorate Offices.  The survey is open until Friday 16th January.
Seath Holswich MP, Trevor Ruthenberg MP and Andrew Powell MP have today launched a community consultation process calling on residents to detail their issues and concerns with both state-controlled roads.
“From the feedback we receive, and from driving these roads ourselves, we know that there is work to be done to improve the safety and usability of these roads,” Mr Holswich said.
“We want to hear directly from those who use these roads regularly, to ensure we capture all the issues – no matter how large or small.”
Information provided by residents will form the basis of the compilation of an Action Plan to prioritise required upgrades.
Working closely with the Department of Transport and Main Roads they will compile a plan of urgent, short term actions and longer term, strategic actions felt necessary to improve Dayboro Road and Mount Mee Road.
Mr Powell said “Our primary aim is to ensure the safety of all road users – motorists, cyclists, recreational users, pedestrians.”
“We also want to ensure these major tourist routes are contributing to a positive tourism experience in our region.”
“Successful tourism businesses in this region create more jobs for local residents, and we believe improved road infrastructure will be beneficial for our local businesses.”
