ARTIST OF THE MONTH
Carley Wagstaff
Dayboro Community Art Gallery will have a special Christmas display made by Local Artist Carley Wagstaff As Artist of the Month, Carley has the opportunity to share her love of timber and showcase her unique wood craft. This current display falls into the category of Primitive style and Yard Art; both have proven to be very popular at the Gallery. Carley’s interest in woodwork has spanned for more than 30years, Yard Art gives the recycled timber an extended life, some with attitude. Pottery was a previous interest where Carley gave tuition for some years, but it is the wood craft that feeds her passion. The beautiful flow of grain that is evident in this medium is part to blame for the addiction to work with this natural product. Carley has just completed a consignment of wood hens to Lord Howe Island. These delightful little wood hens will take pride of place in the upcoming Lord Howe Island Art Trail in December.
Her wonderful sense of humour shines through her creations and it will be a special Christmas treat to view Carley’s new work.
Please join us at 2pm on the 9th of December at The Dayboro Gallery for an afternoon tea hosted by Carley. Take the opportunity to meet the artist and talk to some of the Dayboro Gallery members.
RSVP please 3425 3330.
