Dayboro District Progress Association Inc.
OUTCOME OF DAYBORO DAY FESTIVAL SPECIAL MEETING held
Thursday July 23rd 2015.
We had a good meeting with about 17 interested people attending. Many ideas were tossed around. The general feeling is that the current committee for DDPAI continue for 2015/2016. Then interested people join the association and when planning for Dayboro Day Festival rolls around, they decide what position they would like to be involved in. Whether it be festival Coordinator or Parade coordinator, whatever, we will show them everything we know and will help out along the way. If no one decides they want to take over the reins for Dayboro Day Festival 2017, we have tried our best to help out with this task. We would like DDF to continue but it is up to the Dayboro people to make it happen beyond 2016. If you would like to join DDPAI, it is only $5.00 per year, please contact us via email.
DAYBORO MARKET: The markets are going strong with some new stalls this year. Proceeds from the 2014 markets have been dispersed as follows- $200 to Laps 4 Life, $3250.00 to QIMR (Qld Institute of Medical Research), and $1000.00 to Dayboro Churches Community Chest. Our Market encourages visitors to our town who then frequent local businesses, and when they have such a lovely time, are keen to visit again and again each month. The Market is also an opportunity for locals to sell their goods without having to venture too far from home. The ultimate reward to the Dayboro Sunday Market is being able to provide much needed funds as already mentioned.
Fees for stalls are: $15 for a 3m x 3m site.
