Grand Final Winners – Under 12s 2009

Dayboro colours were on display at Suncorp Stadium recently as the Dayboro Dingoes Soccer Club’s profile received yet another boost.  The club was selected by Football Federation Australia to provide participants to perform centre circle duties at the Socceroos versus Indonesia match held at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday 3rd March.  This was the final qualification round match for the AFC Asian Cup 2011.
The young people, selected from the required age group, and including many of the last years grand final winning team, acted as Foxtel centre circle mat participants.  Their duties included carrying the Foxtel centre circle mat off the pitch after both teams had finished their warm up as well as carrying the Foxtel centre circle mat onto and off the pitch at half-time.  During the game the Dayboro players and their chaperones were allocated free seats to view the match.
Playing in wet and muddy conditions, the Socceroos required just a draw to ensure their position in the Asian Cup.  They went one better, dominating the game and finally winning 1-0
The event was a great opportunity for the Dayboro Dingoes Soccer Club to hold stage at an international event.  The Dayboro Dingoes would like to congratulate all those children who took part and to say thank you to Polly Bennett who did a wonderful job organising the night.  All involved greatly enjoyed the evening and were excellent ambassadors not only for Dayboro Soccer but for the whole Dayboro community.
