May Ladies Financial Day – this day was generously sponsored by the Hon Linda Lavarch, MP, State Member for Kurwongbah. Linda is a very generous supporter of our Club. Unfortunately due to Parliamentary commitments she was unable to attend for lunch and to present the prizes.
Carmel Bateman’s team from Kallangur were the winners and Audrey Ozane, Kallangur the runners-up team. Spiders were won Doug Ozane, Kallangur and Norma McLeod, Pine Rivers. Robins Kitchens, Strathpine donated a very generous gift voucher and this was won by a very happy Margaret Jacob, Kallangur. Margaret’s husband Eric won one of the fruit trays with our own Norma Butler winning the second fruit tray.

MORE BOWLS CLUB NEWS
The Dayboro Bowls Club has been the recipient of two Government Grants of late.
The first grant, from the Queensland Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund, provided an amount of $27155 for the replacement of the ditches around the green. The old ditches were falling into disrepair and contained some asbestos.
The second grant was from the Lifestyle Waterwise Grants Program for not-for-profit organisations. This was to cover $32106 to provide a 20,000 gallon tank and connection to the watering system for the green and to the Club House.
Both grants have allowed us to keep the club and facilities up to date and help comply with water saving initiatives.
