DANCING ON WATER
(A DAYBORO CHRISTMAS)
We will dance on the water
We will sing in the sun
That is the promise
For Christmas has come
Mists shadowing fields
Open windows above
Where angels sing songs
To a great God of
Love
Weariness passes
Sun glitters the dam
While a dead tree shapes
The cross of crucified
Man
Paris bomb’s thunder
Rockets splinter the night
And in Dayboro Christ’s birth
Reminds us of
Light
We will dance on the water
We will sing in the sun
That is the promise –
The lightning will come.
