Community invited to have their say on local health services

Northside Primary and Community Health Services have established a structure for community engagement in primary and community health services north of the Brisbane River to Kilcoy.

Community Consultative Committees are being established to improve community engagement in the planning, delivery and evaluation of primary and community health services across the Northside Health Service District.

Each Community Consultative Committee is aligned to a Community Health Centre located in discrete, geographical areas throughout the District. Community members who would like to have involvement with the planning, development and monitoring of health care services at the Pine Rivers Community Health Centre are invited to apply for membership on the Pine Rivers Community Consultative Committee.

Members of the Pine Rivers Community Consultative Committee will represent community views in relation to the ongoing development of health services at the Pine Rivers Community Health Centre in Strathpine.  The Community Consultative Committee provides a direct link between members of the local community and the District’s Health Community Councils.

The Pine Rivers Community Health Centre provides a range of health care services in one convenient location for people living in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.
Services provided include Community Child Health, Child Development Service, Child and Youth Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug, Sexual Health, Oral Health, Adult Mental Health, Adult Community Health and Aged Care Assessment Service.

Centre Manager Tracey Hinchsliff said: “Members of the Committee will have the opportunity to provide and seek information about local issues that may affect community health and well being.

“The Pine Rivers Community Consultative Committee will provide valuable input about how the Centre’s health care services should be planned and delivered so the community who receive health services can get the best possible care.

“The committee will work towards ensuring that all sections of the community are represented,” Tracey said.

For more information or to obtain a membership application package phone the Centre Manager on 3817 6333.

The Pine Rivers Community Health Centre is part of the Northside Health Service District.
