Computers Waiting
Attention all computer Geeks and possible students! Our U3A is starting very soon, with its ’08 series of low cost, user friendly classes. We meet generally at Bunya House in Arana Hills . Some courses run from a few days or several weeks spread over a generous time frame so as not to be too "heavy ". We have had ladies over 90 yrs (young ) attending so all can be catered for generally, providing a very small membership fee and course attendance cost. Our courses are run by people in your own age group in a friendly and helpful manner – no hard workload .

With the start of a New Year come the New Year resolutions, the promise to quit smoking, and 2008 is the year I lose weight and get fit, and that is all going to happen in the first month, sound familiar. We have all been there at some time in our life, but you know that it can happen, not in the first month, but it can happen. 2008 can be the year you achieve all of the above if you, prioritize, take it one day at a time, set small achievable goals at first, and very important, be disciplined.

Biosphere plans for the D’Aguilar Range landscape

Community groups and residents are encouraged to examine a plan to create a sustainable future for the D’Aguilar Range and its surrounds through a Biosphere initiative.
Biosphere project spokesperson Rosalind Leslie said the voluntary integrated land management strategy is aimed at securing the social, economic and environmental values of the D’Aguilar Range and its surrounding landscape ahead of, and in concert with, the region’s predicted growth.

LOCAL SUPPORT GROUP RUNS CANCER INFORMATION COURSE
A local branch of Canhelp Australia Wide, a charitable non-profit organization, has been established in the Samford-Dayboro area as a result of the excellent attendance at the presentation by Darryl Jones at the Samford Bowls Club on
Darryl and wife Jan, founders of Canhelp Australia Wide were thrilled with the response from so many eager to learn from their years of experience in helping people overcome cancer and other health issues.
The following morning a meeting was also well attended by people who were willing to establish a group in Samford to learn more about Darryl’s program in order to help others as “Cancer Buddies”.
The first stage in the learning process will be a weekend course on
In this course participants will learn about such things as – What is cancer? What causes cancer? and How to support someone with cancer to help them achieve a positive outcome.
