AUG2013_First wedding at Retreat at Ocean View a community effort

Retreat at Ocean View held their first wedding on Saturday 22 June.  It was an Ocean View community effort with the bride, Esther, the daughter of Bronwyn Hawkins, well respected Ocean View photographer.

Esther married Kevin in perfectly beautiful country surroundings – between two rows of trees that had been dressed up like a movie setting with Chapel doors and metres of white bunting.  The reception was held on the front lawn of the Homestead overlooking the rolling hills and setting sun.  It too was like a Hollywood movie set complete with vintage retro furnishings, marque, fairy lights and Esther’s personal messages on black boards scattered under the kilometre of fairy lights creating a canopy in under the trees.  Magical.

Food preparations were taken care of by Ocean View caterer, Helen Rhue, and her lovely helpers Christine Robinson and Marian Schneid.  The waiters for the evening were Jacob Rhue and Torin Schneid and Matthew Rhue, Helen’s husband, manned the bar.

The long driveway down to the property at Ocean View had been decorated by Jan Page from Ocean View, with white ribbons and bows guiding the guests and bridal party to the event.

For the sixty plus guests and family, it was a day to remember as the sun shone on the happy couple and everyone partied well into the night.
