Apr2015_DAYBORO CWA NEWS
In April we are taking our usual 3rd Tuesday of the month meeting to the Movies at Strathpine. We will meet at the CWA Hall at 9am on Tuesday 21st April and go together from there. We will decide on the movie when we see what is screening closer to the date.
Have you visited our stall at the Dayboro Markets on the first Sunday of each month? It’s a great place to get a nice, hot cup of tea or coffee and some great home baking. We also sell our cookbooks and often have a selection of craft, bric-a-brac and plants on offer.
With Mother’s Day approaching keep our stall in mind to find a gift for Mum.
We hosted a wonderful St Patrick’s Day Morning Tea at the Dayboro Showground on Tuesday 17th March. Everyone remembered to come dressed in their green attire.
Congratulations to those who won ‘Best Dressed’ prizes of a packet of Sweet Pea seeds, with St Patrick’s Day being the traditional day to get them planted in the ground. Thank you to all our members who provided home baking and arrived early to set up and make plates of sandwiches. Also to George Hartnett Funerals for providing beautiful, green, floral centerpieces for all of our tables.
This year we have introduced a Cuppa and Chat morning on the last Saturday of each month at one of the local cafes in town. This is a great opportunity for those who work during the week to meet up and are unable to attend our weekday activities. We look forward to welcoming anyone who is interested finding out more about our local CWA…or anyone who just enjoys a cuppa and a chat with a lovely group of women! There won’t be a Cuppa and Chat in April as the last Saturday is ANZAC Day. Our next catch up will be on Saturday 30th May.
