RED DEER STAMPEDE GOES FULL THROTTLE
With discounted early-bird tickets now on sale, Red Deer Music & Arts Festival is set to ignite its fourth grassroots celebration on Saturday 7 September 2013, and excited punters are preparing to return to Samford Valley for another euphoric display of music, arts and community spirit.
Nestled at the base of the pristine D’Aguilar Range, Brisbane’s only BYO camping festival will once again welcome a herd of acclaimed Australian musicians to the stage (line-up released April 29th), followed closely behind by a stampede of passionate punters eager to soak up the dynamic spring energy.
Bringing music to the masses for four years running, the vibrant grassroots event has cemented its reputation as a distinctive, “must do” local festival, continuing to delight audiences with a top notch lineup of Australian musicians which last year included iconic indie-rock headline act Regurgitator and folk angel Clare Bowditch.
Festival Director Julian De Maria said Red Deer had this year again expanded a further 50 percent in size to cater for the intensifying public thirst for smaller-scale, premium quality alternatives to Australia’s major festivals characterised by treacherous crowds, massive drink lines and a “diluted” atmosphere.
“From our humble roots and modest crowd of 450 punters in 2010, we’ve grown significantly and now look forward to welcoming over 1,500 music lovers across 12 hours of music with overnight camping,” he said.
Perched on the lush site of his Parents ex-deer farm, De Maria says he and his team are committed to upholding the event’s honesty and integrity, and will continue to offer comparatively cheaper ticket prices and the freedom to bring couches and eskies into the festival.
“We strive to deliver a fresh and relaxed homegrown experience, memorable for its good vibes, mutual respect and sense of soul,” he said.
De Maria said Red Deer had recently also opened partnership opportunities to organisations keen to join the stampede and play an active role in the growth of South East Queensland’s increasingly dynamic cultural scene.
“We look forward to aligning with passionate teams who share our vision for an inspired future for our region,” De Maria said.
