APEX UPDATE Sept 08
Ahoy there.
Captain Rushton of the Yellow submarine bringing you all the news from your local Apex Club. Still running deep and silent, under fire from the Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney General for some minor paperwork lapses – but we’re getting there.
DIRECTORY TIME
Directory time again as you can see from the advert below.
A couple of changes to this year’s edition will be an experiment in trying to put the Directory contents “on line” and the promise of fully traceable electronic banking.
Don’t worry, you’ll still receive the bound booklet complete with gaudy art work but, as an added extra, the electronic generation will be able to scour the listings and count the number of Sellins in a number of key strokes …
Hopefully the availability of electronic banking will enable earlier compilation of the Directory and limit the chasing of late payments. Miss the cut-off date at your own peril! We wish all our valued advertisers a prosperous year and look forward to our continued mutually beneficial relationship.
DAYBORO DAY
Dayboro Day Boat Race bigger and better than ever though obviously we’ll need another boat and a set of rules if we are to avoid the wrath of Mrs Hansen. The submarine was eventually scuppered in Stefan and Jackie’s garden to provide housing for their growing guinea pig herd.
DAYBORO SHOW
Dayboro Show was well attended with the boys helping out on the gates as well as rebuilding the entry to the produce pavilion. Apologies to anyone who thought they’d get in for free through
MEMBERSHIP MOMENTS
The crew has been extended by two additional members Mark Patterson and John Ohman: “Patto” and “Socco” respectively, just in time to replace John Schuhmann who is expecting to retire from active duty in the near future. That’s what he thinks …
Congratulations go to member Mark Hazell, on the birth of twins Sienna and Jasper, I saw him 6 days after the birth and he’d gained at least 6 years, what he’ll look like by Christmas is worrying.
Watch out for rowdiness on
