A LIONS TALE

Lions held their changeover dinner on June 7. The Dayboro Lions and their invited guests all enjoyed the evening which featured a photographic presentation of the Club‟s activities throughout the last 12 months.

(The photos were projected onto a large screen from a computer, but because Ian was coming to terms with a new projector, it seemed that extra kilos were added to subjects – causing considerable mirth!)

Pictured above is the Lions‟ new executive committee: Vice President Stuart Bragg; Treasurer, Marj Barnett, President, Anita Van der Maat and Secretary, Steve Durley, pictured with Gloria Grant (centre) an Albany Creek Lion, who performed the installation ceremony.  (Pictured above) Lions paid for the paint and helped Burn Bell paint the showground stands. Apex were also involved there – a project of building the steps out the back. A good example of the Dayboro community spirit – working together.
A very good and illustrated talk was featured at our Open Meeting last month. This was by Conrad, our local cop, on his experiences out west, which clearly confirmed why he is a great catch for the Dayboro community.

 K9 DOG DAY – Sunday 31st August 2008

LIONS MOVIE NEWS:

Another successful movie night was held – the somewhat scary Spiderwick Chronicles. A splendid audience. Kids were engaged by the story, and one could hear a pin drop during the gripping moments.
NEXT MOVIE: 19th July –
―Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.‖
