May2014_Mount Samson Bush Dance
Sat 24th May 2014
at MOUNT SAMSON SCHOOL OVAL
This community event is a family friendly, alcohol free event to raise money for the chaplaincy service at Mount Samson school. The Dayboro Lions and the Sheriffs fund are sponsoring the accomplished band ‘System of a Hoedown’. This is the night before Dayboro Day, so this is bound to get everyone into a fun country mood for the next day.
Rosie’s big chaplaincy fundraiser is coming up on Saturday, 24th May 6-8pm at Mount Samson School (with early dinner from 4:30pm). Tickets can be bought at the door – $5 head or $20 a family.
There will be a bush band on the oval and the whole community is invited to come and celebrate with a dinner and a 90 minute hoedown. The school community is already excited at the prospect of this big event.
Mrs Rosie Thonas is the school chaplain, at Mount Samson State School, having been part of this great valley for 4 years as the pioneering ‘Chappy’ of this school.
School Chaplains are in the prevention and rescue business, providing valuable support to students, parents, staff and the school community. They work with other caring professionals to provide a safe place to fall, a listening ear, emotional and spiritual support and are able to tap into a network of support to help local families. They run clubs, groups, are active in the playground and classroom, as well as school and community events.
