March2014_MIKAYLA – Miss Junior Personality and Runner Up Fundraiser

During 2013 I ( Mikayla Bennett – 12 yrs) was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in the Pony Club Association of Queensland Personality Quest as a representative of Dayboro Pony Club.
This is a quest where junior entrants (10 – 15 yrs) and senior’s entrants (16-26 yrs) raise funds for Riding for the Disable Association throughout the Year.  In November all the participants went to a dinner in Gympie.  There they asked all of us questions to see who had the best personality.  There was a winner for junior and senior for personality and a winner for money raised.
I was thrilled to be awarded Miss Junior Personality and Runner Up Fundraiser.
Fundraising for the RDA and participating in the Personality Quest has been a wonderful experience for me, and a memorable one.  I have enjoyed raising money for the RDA and hope I can do the quest again in upcoming years.  Thanks to the very generous help some sponsors and the support of the Dayboro Pony Club Members and Dayboro Trail Riders, ran  a Team Penning (a fun game played with cows)  fundraiser and raffle, I raised over $6,000.
My Sponsors included: Sentinel Property Group, Mainstream Automotive, Brisbane Screening, PJF Floats, Old Mill Vet Surgery, Springview Stud, Hygain Feeds, Simple Web Hosting, For Goodness Cake, Grand Prix Rugs, First Class Brow Bands, Barefoot Partners, BES Acreage & Garden Services, Bell’s Hay & Chaff, Team Post Tensioning, Elmec Pty Ltd, Queensland Working Cow Horse Club and Dayboro Show Society.
From this experience I have learnt to overcome my fears of talking to strangers both in person and over the phone.  It has taught me to be independent and shown me that there are many wonderful caring people in this world.  I would definitely try to convince other members from Dayboro Pony Club and others to participate in this Quest.
I’d like to thank all my sponsors again for all their help.  Participating in the Personality Quest has been an amazing experience and I could not have done it without you.  I will continue to help the RDA in any way I can, including loaning my horse for the RDA State Championships for years to come.
