To Be Demolished
The Old Ambulance Centre in McKenzie Street, near the School’s crossing, is set to be demolished.
This follows an Engineer’s report that has highlighted extensive termite and water damage, effectively rendering the building unsafe and beyond the reasonable cost of repair.
The building, which is not listed on any State Heritage Registers, was transferred in ownership to the Department of Education after the Ambulance station was relocated into a new facility – at 140 McKenzie Street, in 1988.
Dayboro State School has utilised the building since as an archival storage area.
