There are now three more reasons to visit Ocean View Estates and join Thomas and Kate Honnef in celebrating the festive season with the winery’s own boutique beers now on tap.
Brewed to Thomas’s unique recipes, the Estate’s Unwound Mountain Ale, Pale Ale and beer of the month Honey Wheat Beer are preservative free and full of flavour.
“Our Mountain Ale is a velvety dark beer brewed with cocoa beans to give a rich chocolatey finish,” Thomas said.
“The Pale Ale is a lighter-bodied brew with a tropical fruit aroma. We’ve been producing the beers for around 18 months for use in our restaurant, but having them here on tap adds another dimension to what we can offer and it’s great that that coincides with the holiday season and the warmer months ahead.”
Almost 100 guests were among the first to enjoy the beers on tap when Thomas and Kate hosted a sold-out boutique beer tasting on 4 November, complete with tapas and live music.
“It was a great day, but you don’t have to wait for a special event – we’d love to see our locals anytime for beer or wine tasting, meals, morning tea, or just to chill out with friends on a weekend afternoon,” Kate said.
Putting the Estate-brewed boutique beers on tap is the latest in a range of deliberate moves by Thomas and Kate to offer more for local Dayboro and surrounding areas residents.
“Great wine and food is definitely our passion and we have a loyal following of enthusiasts, both local and from other parts of Australia,” Kate said.
“But we also love being part of this beautiful, laid-back community and we have made it a priority to make sure that our Estate reflects that.
So whether you’re looking for a special night out, an event with friends, coffee with the girls, an early weekday meal with your children, or just a few drinks and nibbles on a Sunday afternoon while the children explore outdoors, this is the place to come.”
