KEEP YOUR SAUSAGE SIZZLING WITH THE BIG AUSSIE BARBIE!
The Big Aussie Barbie – Saturday 24 September – 11am to 2pm in Henry Bradley Park, Laidlaw St, Dayboro.
September is international prostate cancer awareness month and I really wanted to do something to raise money for Prostate Cancer research… and MOvember was out for me (obviously)… and there was no way I was substituting growing a ‘MO’ for growing any other form of bodily hair!  So I have decided to participate in The Big Aussie Barbie, which raises money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.  You may or may not know this, but my Dad (Glenn Bell) was diagnosed with prostate cancer in late 2008.  It was a big shock to us all, you never think the big "C" is going to hit your own loved ones.  Luckily, Dad’s cancer was pretty much contained to one area and was able to be removed via a successful operation in February 2009 (along with his entire prostate).  But some are not so lucky, and if not for the research efforts of foundations like this, my Dad might not have been diagnosed so early.
