July2011_LOCAL QUIET ACHIEVER RECEIVES HIS MEDAL

Fire Warden for Mt Pleasant, Volunteer Community Educator and Rural Firefighter, Stan Chambers, finally received the National Medal, plus First Clasp, awarded to him for his 28 years of service to the Dayboro community when the brigade was visited by Acting Area Director Richard Lohse late last month.
Stan was not available on Saturday, 27 November last year, when his colleagues from Dayboro and District Rural Fire Brigade attended the official opening of the Arthur Duncan Training Room at Mt Mee Rural Fire Station to receive their medals and clasps.  Stan and those nine colleagues from Dayboro District Rural Fire Brigade (DDRFB) have served and protected the Dayboro community for a massive total of 339 years – an amazing achievement.  Well done, Stan.
