Let Urban Country inspire you
If you have an artistic side and Urban Country means something special to you, now is the time to harness your creative talent.
Moreton Bay Regional Council in partnership with the Old Fire Station Art & Craft Gallery is supporting a special People’s Choice Painting and Photography Competition.
Mayor Allan Sutherland said the competition, which would be judged during the Urban Country Music Festival this May long weekend, was open to all artists.
“Whether you’re a painter, photographer, or handy with a sketch, you’ll need to submit your work by Friday, April 16, to be in the running,” Mayor Sutherland said.
“The works, which need to follow an Urban Country theme, should be up to a metre in width or height and be ready to hang.
“What we’re looking for is art that mixes big city style and small town charm or that contrasts country landscapes and urban spaces.
“The works will be judged by visitors to the gallery, in King Street Caboolture, during the festival.
“The winner will take home $500, second prize is $250 and third is $100.”
For further conditions or entry forms please email firestationgall@internode.on.net or phone the gallery on 5498 3466.
