ARTISTS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY FOR FUNDING
Artists in the Moreton Bay region are being urged to apply for a share of the $170,000 Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF). pplications for the Moreton Bay Regional Council RADF grants opened on August 3 and close on September 14, 2009.
Division 7 Councillor and Lifestyle and Amenities spokesperson, David Dwyer, said past allocations had delivered community focused festivals, craft, music and theatre activities.
“The grants are a crucial part of fostering a vibrant and professional arts culture in the Moreton Bay region,” Cr Dwyer said.
“In some circumstances RADF funding can make a big difference to whether or not a show, exhibition or cultural event gets off the ground and is seen by audiences.
A second round of allocations will close in mid March for projects not due for launch until after June 2010.
Moreton Bay Regional Council also accepts applications for out of round RADF grants.
