NETWORK TOPIC Feb09

Welcome, Grapevine readers, to our first edition for 2009.
My!  Didn’t those holidays go quickly?!!
I draw our readers’ attention to our front page story – about Dayboro Rural Watch.  Do you live in the Dayboro township?  AND Did you, like me, have the idea that this wasn’t for ‘us townies’ but only for the folk living on acreages???
Well!  How wrong were we!!  It encompasses us all!
Right now it is crucial for us to take the plunge and support the continuation of this group.  That it is needed is obvious when you read the Police News (See page 17).
GRAFFITI          THEFT
Goodness me! – Some person, or persons, even stole Christmas decorations from the roof of the Dayboro Bakery!!!
We need to take steps to nip this in the bud.  This escalation of crime in our township and surrounding districts is unacceptable!  Our strong sense of community needs to come to the fore and we need to be pro-active in taking note of, and reporting, wrong doing.
We don’t want to have it as commonplace to wake up to graffiti sprayed on our fences or buildings – as happens in other areas.
We don’t want to think that everything that is not nailed down or locked up will be at risk of theft!!
We need to start getting involved – Support Dayboro Rural Watch by attending the meetings – Learn what we should be doing as regards keeping alert and reporting what we see.  See you at 7.30pm on Thursday 12th February at the Dayboro Bowls Club.
