FUEL YOUR MIND

childrens_book_week.jpgAll Moreton Bay Regional Libraries will be celebrating books and reading during Children’s Book Week, which this year has the theme of Fuel your Mind and runs from August16 to 22.
Moreton Bay Regional Libraries will be having plenty of activities including an art competition for primary school aged children, art awards ceremonies, author talks, special story time sessions, displays, Children’s Book Week Quiz, and a Book Week Show with song/rhymes, books, puppetry, and story gigs.

Greg Rogers, author and illustrator of “The Boy, the Bear, the Baron, the Bard” and “Midsummer Knight”, will be speaking at eight libraries across the region on writing and illustrating a book.

Children’s Book Week is the longest running children’s festival in Australia, celebrating its 63rd birthday this year.

Each year, public libraries from all over Australia spend the week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators with fun activities highlighting the importance of reading.

All libraries across Moreton Bay region have something special happening during Children’s Book Week, so ask at your library for details.
