Fun for Kids All local kids with backyard chooks are encouraged to join in the fun! With both novelty and standard breed classes available this will allow a wide variety of poultry and waterfowl to be exhibited by children.

Win a Chook Tractor with Chooks!   Wow, win a custom made Chook Tractor built by local builder Gary Tavener.  The Chook Tractor also comes adorned with your very own  trio of Rhode Island Bantams which have been donated by local breeder Linda Jones.  Wait there’s more,  the Chook Tractor also comes complete with equipment donated by Kate Velge from “Beautiful Chickens.”
Feature Fowl:  Rhode Island (Red and White) are a Feature Breed including a Water Fowl (Duck and Goose) featuring as well.  Although the show is open to all breeds these ‘Features’ are expected to attract extra entry numbers within their categories.  The Rhode Island Club of Australia, Qld Branch is supporting the Rhode Island feature.  Well-renowned Master Judge Damien Frith will be judging the Rhode Islands and all other Soft-feather fowl.
Young Gun Judges:  This year’s judging panel also includes 2 young up and coming poultry judges from the Feather Club Association of Queensland’s provisional judges list:
19 year old Elise Carlton, from Kallangur will be judging the Junior exhibitor section.  Elise will also be judging the open Water Fowl section, which is a major feature of the show and expected to draw a large variety of Goose and Duck exhibits.  Elise has been successfully showing and breeding a wide variety of poultry breeds since she was 13 years old.  This show will be Elsie’s first judging appointment after stewarding at 9 major shows.  She will be assisted by her mentor Mr. Jack Hackshall of Lawnton Poultry club.  Jack is a well known veteran expert in all types of poultry including waterfowl and has been a strong influence on Elsie’s enthusiasm for exhibition poultry.
17 year old Matthew Sessions from Beaudesert will be judging the Hard-feather breeds section of the show, which is a very competitive section.  Matt is regarded as a keen and highly skilled young poultry man, having keenly bred and exhibited poultry since he was 9 years old.  Matt has successfully competed in many novice judging competitions and has of late judged poultry sections of several agricultural shows in South East Queensland.  On show day, Matt will be assisted by his long term mentor Mr. Rob Monument.  Rob, a well-regarded Hard-feather breeder and judge has mentored Matt for many years.
