Get your creative juices flowing and see how a slice of Moreton Bay Regional Council’s RADF funding can help kick-start your next exciting arts project.
Spokesperson for Lifestyle and Amenities and Division Seven councillor, David Dwyer, said RADF grants could be used for a range of activities including professional development, innovative arts, culture or heritage projects, as well as workshops, concept, development and tourism initiatives.
“RADF grants are designed to help foster and grow a vibrant and professional arts culture in the region,” Cr Dwyer said.
“In the past, grants have helped deliver a range of community focused festivals, craft, heritage, music and theatrical activities.
“There are thousands of dollars on offer with grants typically ranging between $250 and $15,000.”
Cr Dwyer said past grants had provided funding for a range of creative pursuits, helping many local residents along their artistic career paths.
He said the musical, Tom Petrie’s Dilemma, which would be showcased at The Redcliffe Cultural Centre in March, was an example of an RADF funding success.
“RADF funding has helped transform this local production into a theatrical masterpiece which is now touring some of South-East Queensland’s premier cultural venues,” Cr Dwyer said.
“An RADF application could see your project receive the financial backing it needs to get off the ground and onto the public stage."
The Regional Arts Development Fund is a Moreton Bay Regional Council and Queensland Government partnership supporting local and upcoming artists and cultural endeavours.
Applications close Monday, March 12 with funding outcomes announced in May, 2012.
