Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre Requires Volunteer Adult Literacy Tutors
Do you have a passion for literacy? Are you interested in supporting an adult in their quest to improve their basic literacy and numeracy skills? The Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre is currently recruiting volunteers to assist in the Adult Literacy Program. Tutoring is provided to a student in a one-on-one setting for two consecutive hours each week for one year. Prior experience is not necessary. The Centre will provide free training in Community Volunteer Adult Literacy Tutoring from 29th February 2012. Tutoring in the Adult Literacy Program especially appeals to caring and understanding people from a variety of backgrounds who are interested in mentoring and supporting someone to become more independent and enriched through learning.
