WORKSHOPS TO EXPLAIN NEW COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM June09

Mayor Allan Sutherland said the sessions, to be held at various convenient locations throughout the region, would provide vital information to community and sporting groups about the grants program.
“Grants will be available for projects that respond to community issues and for programs that will develop and improve community facilities,” he said.
“There will also be grant money available for events that encourage local celebrations, tourism and showcase the region as well as individuals achieving at a national or international level in arts and culture, sport and recreation, the environment or academia.”
Community and sporting group representatives interested in finding out more about council’s new grants program can attend any of the following information sessions:
* June 22 – 6pm to 8pm – Bribie Island and Community Arts Centre, 191 Sunderland Dr, Banksia Beach
* June 23 – 6pm to 8pm – Woodford Community Hall, 109 Archer St, Woodford
* June 24 – 6pm to 8pm – Redcliffe Library
* June 25 – 6pm to 8pm – Strathpine Community Hall, cnr Gympie Rd and Mecklem St, Strathpine
* June 29 – 6pm to 8pm – Caboolture Memorial Hall, King St, Caboolture
* July 6 – 6pm to 8pm – John Naumann Hall, Deception Bay Rd, Deception Bay
