Sept2011_GUIDE OFFERS STEPS TO FITNESS
Take your first step towards being fitter and healthier by picking up a copy of Moreton Bay Regional Council’s new walking guide. Lifestyle and amenity spokesperson and Division 7 councillor David Dwyer said council had just published the new guide which would be available at council’s information centres, customer service centres, libraries, pools and other council run facilities.
This brochure might just introduce you to some beautiful outdoor areas you haven’t explored before.
“It opens out to show maps of 10 walking tracks throughout the region including the Pine River Nature Walk, Woody Point’s Jetty to Bridge Bay Walk, the North Lakes 10,000 Steps Trail, the Jinker Track Forest Walk, Caboolture Lakes Loop, and the Bribie Passage Seaside Stroll,” said Cr Dwyer.
Cr Dwyer said the brochure also contained information about Heart Foundation walking groups throughout the region and how to join one, walking safety tips, the locations of outdoor fitness stations in the region, local active dog agility parks, and information about accessing and using pedometers to keep track of your fitness progress.
The Moreton Bay Regional Council Walking Guide is also available online through council’s website at www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au
