Sept2011_BIG OCTOBER RIDE

horseriders_4triders.gifThe Dayboro Trailriders Club Incorporated is proud to be running it’s 14th Annual BIG OCTOBER RIDE

After cancelling the event last year due to local flooding and rain, we are really looking forward to this year’s 14th annual Big October Ride.  (22nd October, 2011).
We have an all new 7 hour ride heading out toward beautiful Lacey’s Creek as well as a leisurely 3 hour ride through the Dayboro valley.
Ride fees will cover morning tea, lunch (on the long ride), Saturday night’s live entertainment & camping fees should you decide to stay at the Dayboro showgrounds.
Local scouts are planning to be on hand at morning tea and lunch to provide billy tea and refreshments.
Both rides are non-competitive and leisurely paced.  Participants need to bring their own horse and riding gear.  There is no age limit on either riders or horses; however both will need to be fit enough and competent to take part.  Riders 16 years & under will require a responsible adult or guardian.  Riders 18 years & under must wear an approved riding helmet.  Strictly no stallions, rigs or dogs.
Rules and insurance fees apply.  We are able to provide camping facilities; power; hot showers; show ring; limited yards and stalls (cannot be booked, sorry).  Catering is available across the weekend but only guaranteed if you pre book.  Pre nominations are preferred.
Saturday evening the licenced bar will be open (no BYO alcohol please) with ‘Cousin Jack’ providing live entertainment.  If you ride, your arm band gets you in to the entertainment for free!!!!.
This event has become avidly looked forward to, each year, by riders locally and further a field.  Previously we’ve been host to riders from the Brisbane suburbs, Ipswich; Toowoomba; Yarraman; Gympie; Maryborough; Gold Coast and New South Wales.  We look forward to seeing you all again!
