POLICE NEWS March 08

logo_police.gifOnce again, over the last month, there has been an increase in the usual number of traffic incidents in the Dayboro area.  The wet weather continues to be the main cause, with a number of local roads flooding.  With increased rain fall please take extra care.
There have been no major property offences reported over the January/February period.  However, with a lot of people returning to work, our area does become more vulnerable, particularly during the day.  Please keep vigilant for suspicious vehicles/persons in your area and pass this information on to us at the Police Station.
RURAL WATCH
Get involved – Next meeting April 3rd
SAMSONVALE HALL
The Dayboro Rural Watch recently held a meeting at the Dayboro State School.  The next meeting will be on Thursday 3rd April at the Samsonvale Hall, Winn Road, Mount Samson.  It is anticipated that a guest speaker will be attending and this will be confirmed and advertised locally closer to the date.
The Rural Watch is a long standing program in this area but, as with a lot of community groups, it is difficult to attract new interest.
Rural Watch has a positive impact on property offence rates and I believe it is important to show continued support.
Supporting Rural Watch does not require any more commitment than the time spent at the meeting and it is a good opportunity to meet other people in the area and to gain useful information.
