POLICE NEWS April 2010
During daylight hours on 24th February entry was gained to a residence on Mt Brisbane Rd, Mt Pleasant and jewellery stolen. Entry was by breaking a fixed pane of glass in the back door and reaching inside and using the key left in the lock to open the door.
On 1st March a vehicle stolen from Lutwyche was abandoned in Morris Street, Dayboro.
Any person with information in relation to these or other offences is requested to contact Dayboro Police Station Ph 34251200 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
RURAL WATCH: Next meeting of Dayboro Rural Watch is 7.30pm on Thursday 15th April at Dayboro Bowls Club. All welcome to attend. After a request raised at the last meeting of the Rural Watch, an e-mail list has been developed to provide regular updates of police news. If you would like to be included on this list please contact me via e-mail: robinson.kennethj@police.qld.gov.au
Regular reports are made to the station concerning computer related offences. Whilst some deals are simply too good to be true and should raise a red flag straight away, there are so many variations of this type of crime that it is not always the trusting or gullible that can become victims. This is particularly the case with some types of credit card related fraud. Prosecution can also be difficult with offenders often in another country. Some useful information can be obtained from the Australian High Tech Crime Centre.

A reminder that new child restraint laws are now in force as of 11th March. These rules relate to restraint of children up to 7 years of age and include restrictions on sitting in the front row of seats in a vehicle (where there is more than one row of seats). More information on these rules can be obtained from the police station or the Queensland Transport website
