News from the Dayboro Churches Nov 08

The recent Bush Dance in aid of the Dayboro and Mt Mee State Schools chaplaincy program was a huge success and the Dayboro Churches are keen to make this an annual event.  A feature of the night was the wonderful Stone the Crows Bush Band.  One member, Bill Turner, is a member of the Dayboro Uniting Church and he adds colour to worship there.

Obituary – Dan Wruck

Dan Wruck lost his life in a farm accident on his Hausmann Rd property on 24th September.  He lost control of his Suzuki Stockman while planting out Stargass runners on a newly dozed hillside track and was crushed as the vehicle rolled down the hillside.

EnergyAustralia’s Energy Efficiency Expert Paul Myors said homeowners could keep the temperature and their post-summer power bills at bay with just a few simple steps.
“We know that almost 90 per cent of homeowners over-cool their homes during summer,” Mr Myors said.
“For the days you do want to use your air conditioner set it between 23 and 26 degrees for the most efficient results.

Botanic garden review

Moreton Bay Regional Council will investigate further its options in relation to botanical gardens and horticultural values for the region.
This follows a request to council from the Queensland division of the Society for Growing Australian Plants for a regional botanic garden to be established in the area.
