Nov2014_WIN FOR THE OVER 45’s SOCCER TEAM

Congratulations to the Samford/Dayboro over 45’s Soccer team (pictured) for winning the Over 45’s Cup at the Sunshine Coast Soccer Tournament held recently at Buderim.  There was also an over 35’s team representing our region who also performed well.  The tournament attracted over 50 teams from across the country and the football was of a very high standard as reported by Scott Price, manager of the Over 45’s.

 

 

The Dayboro contingent formed the combined team with Samford at the beginning of 2014 and competed in the North Brisbane Over 35s Competition, playing half of their home games at Dayboro.  

“They are a great bunch of blokes and fantastic role models for our community.  They show that age is no barrier to having a great time and keeping fit in a game that can be played well into your 50’s" said Scott.
