Nov2011_BOOKS FOR A BRIGHTER CHRISTMAS
Residents across the Moreton Bay region are being encouraged to share the gift of literacy and make a difference to children’s lives this Christmas by donating a book to The Smith Family’s Wishing Well Christmas Appeal. Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor, Allan Sutherland, said residents could donate by purchasing a new book and dropping it into their nearest library’s wishing well or by making a gold coin donation.
“Many know Christmas as a joyous and gift giving time of year and it’s my hope that many will see it in their hearts to spare a few dollars to support this worthy cause, helping those in their time of need,” Mayor Sutherland said.
Mayor Sutherland said all books and money collected from the Wishing Well Appeal would be given to the Smith Family for distribution to families in need throughout the Moreton Bay region, just in time for Christmas.
The Wishing Well Appeal runs across all Moreton Bay Libraries from October 24 to December 2.
