Property offences
Over the last month there has been a reduction in property crime after a series of break and enter offences in the area during March.
On Thursday 6th March offences occurred at Mt Mee Road, Dayboro and Old Mt Samson Rd Closeburn. On 11th March there were further offences at Royston Street King Scrub and Laceys Creek Road, Laceys Creek. Property stolen includes jewellery and cash and firearms. All offences occurred during the day with three of them between 8am and mid-day.
On 6th March and again on 11th March a black utility was seen in the vicinity of two of the incidents. There is some slight variation in the vehicle descriptions but consensus that it is an all black utility with style sides and a bigger make such as a BT50 or Ranger. One witness also described black wheels and window tinting. Vehicle is either King single cab or dual cab and a newer model.
These offences are a reminder to take note of out of place vehicles and people in the area. With the above vehicle information from residents we have a very useful line of inquiry.
Detectives are currently investigating a suspect for the March offences and have charged two offenders for a burglary and stolen vehicle offence which happened in Millbrook Estate in February.
Overnight on 10th March there was a considerable amount of graffiti in pink spray paint in the Dayboro town area, focused on Lions Park, Roderick Cruice Park and a private building in the same vicinity. There has been a steady increase in graffiti in these areas. Council staff responded very quickly to clean up.
On 20th February there was an attempt to break into a Juffs Road residence during daylight hours.
If you have information in relation to these or any other offences please contact Dayboro Police Station 3425 1200 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
