Due to extenuating circumstances the Moreton Bay Region Art Awards will now be held from Friday 11th October to Sunday 27th October, 2013.

The Moreton Bay Region Art Awards is an annual acquisitive art prize and exhibition proudly supported by the Moreton Bay Regional Council. The Art Awards offers two acquisitive prizes of $7,500 and two supplementary $1,000 prizes for a Local Artist and a People’s Choice Award. The Moreton Bay Region Art Awards is an important feature in the cultural landscape of the region and has featured many prominent and emerging artists in its 21 year history. For the first time the Moreton Bay Region Art Awards will be publishing in an online catalogue. This will be available once the finalists have been confirmed, prior to the opening night.

Successful applicants will be notified by September 1.

Photography / 2D Digital Art / Computer Art
2D – Two dimensional works
3D – Three dimensional works
Prizes
Two acquisitive prizes
$7,500 awarded from any of the three categories, with the winning works becoming part of the Moreton Bay Region Art Collection. All artists are eligible.
People’s Choice Award
$1,000 prize as the result of a public ballot counted at the end of the exhibition. All artists are eligible.
Local Artist Award
$1,000 non-acquisitive merit certificate. Awarded to an eligible local artist (Moreton Bay region) in any of the three categories.
The Moreton Bay Region Art Awards will be held at the Strathpine Community Centre, Strathpine from October 12 – 27, 2013.
Entries are accepted until Thursday 1 August 2013 4.00pm (no late entries)
The exhibition runs from Saturday 12 October 2013 until Sunday 27 October 2013
Opening event is Friday 11 October 2013. Doors open at 6.00pm. Bookings will be taken nearer the Exhibition date.

The Art Awards competition entry is now an online process. This online application process now allows you to:

· Receive immediate confirmation of your application
This process saves you time and money, making the application quicker.
Once you start your application there is no opportunity to save and return to your application, you must complete it in one sitting.
If you wish to enter more than one piece of artwork you must complete an application for each one.
