During the month of February 2014 there have been several break and enters in the Dayboro Area.  There has also been a break and enter where a car was stolen and the owner assaulted.  This occurred in the early hours of the morning and involved persons crashing a stolen car in the Dayboro area and then conducting a sneak break into an unlocked residence.  The offenders were bold enough to enter the bedroom whilst the victim was still in bed and stole their belongings.  The victims work car was also stolen during this occurrence with the victim being assaulted during the course of the break and enter.

During the last year or so when I have spoken to victims of crime in Dayboro, I often hear the same response.  That being that this is Dayboro and, “that sort of stuff doesn’t happen here”.  Unfortunately crimes that usually happen in greater Brisbane are now happening here.  Dayboro is a back road regularly used by offenders who move from Caboolture through to Petrie and Lawnton areas.  So that being the case, whether you live in Dayboro Township or on acreage property outside of town, please remember to lock up your houses and cars.  It won’t always stop offenders committing crime and stealing your belongings, but it is a certain deterrent.  Be vigilant and keep an eye on both your place and your neighbours.
