Families will now pay up to $2000 extra every year for their private health insurance, thanks to Julia Gillard’s latest broken promise.
It will raise the government about $2.4 billion however none of the money the government is ripping out of families will go into public hospitals. Labor is hurting families in our private and public health systems at the same time. The government is desperate to raise money because they have wasted so much. It will mean higher premiums for everybody. Some people will drop their cover altogether and others will downgrade their cover which just puts extra pressure on our public hospitals. Don’t believe Julia Gillard when she says this is a hit on the rich. Almost six million Australians who are insured with private health insurance have incomes of less than $50,000 in fact more than 3 million of them have an annual income of less than $35,000. The good news is that a Coalition government will restore the private health insurance rebate as soon as possible, giving Australian families the help they deserve.Dickson Awards recipients
It was with great pleasure that I presented the following awards to residents in the Dayboro area as part of my Dickson Community Awards.
Volunteer Award – Shannon Yeardley for her bouquets of caring to over 300 women in aged care, women’s hostels, victims of domestic violence, and people who have been recommended by the community.
Community Award – Dr Paul Inglis for his spiritual, moral and emotional support to the Dayboro district over the last decade and for his efforts during the 2011 January floods.
Community Award – Sgt Ken Robinson for his fund raising and community projects to help those in need, his work as Dayboro School’s Top Cop and for his tireless efforts in extreme conditions during the 2011 January floods.
Community Award- Sgt Troy Nowitzki for his fund raising and community projects to help those in need, his work as Mt Samson Schools Adopt-a-cop and for his tireless efforts in extreme conditions during the 2011 January floods.
I would like to take this opportunity to say farewell and thank you to Sgt Troy Nowitzki for his dedication and service to our community. Troy and his family will be greatly missed and I wish them all the very best for future.
