KOALA GROUP BRANCHES OUT WITH COUNCIL SUPPORT

Koala Care Rescue provides a 24-hour rescue service and can be reached on 0401 080 333.
Moreton Bay Regional Council donated $500 to Moreton Bay Koala Rescue Inc, formerly known as Caboolture Koala Care & Rescue Inc.
The donation, organised by Mayor Allan Sutherland, will help the organisation expand its services across the entire Moreton Bay region.

“The new name aligns the organisation more closely with the Moreton Bay region and this money will help the group purchase uniforms and material to promote their services,” Cr Sutherland said.
“Council is committed to maintaining the long-term sustainability of koala populations in the region and this organisation is crucial to that role.”
The Moreton Bay Koala Care and Rescue service is a 24-hour operation.  Last year its hotline received more than 1100 calls and 74 koalas were relocated from dangerous situations while a further 257 were admitted to a wildlife hospital.
To report an injured koala contact the Moreton Bay Koala Rescue on 0401 080 333.
