DAYBORO DAY AWARDS:  Our congratulations go to George Thompson as the 2105 Resident of the Year, Dayboro Bakery as Business Achiever of the Year, Grace Lye as Youth Achiever of the Year and to Dayboro First Responders on their Special Award for Community Service.  Doreen will have more in depth info about the awards somewhere in the Grapevine.

DAYBORO DAY FESTIVAL:  Another successful DDF under our belts.  The weather was kind to us and if you didn’t have a good time, well, what can I say, we did everything we could to help you out.  As you may have heard, 2016 will be the last DDF that DDPAI will be involved in.  Maybe we have done it to ourselves, it is just too big to handle these days.  Mark and I have been part of DDF for about 15 years and Lexie has been on board for about 13 years.  So, is there another association out there that would like to take it on for 2017 and beyond?  We will give you all the assistance we can.  DDPAI will continue with Dayboro Antique & Collectables Fair.  We will be having a meeting to discuss this on Thursday July 23rd 2015 at 7pm in the Council Building in Williams Street.  All Not for Profit associations are invited and for those not involved in one and would like to be involved, please come along.
DAYBORO DAY FESTIVAL THANK YOU:  It would be impossible to list the names of all the volunteers that help DDPAI with the festival.  It is wonderful to see how everyone comes along, at Mark’s request, to set up and pull down, on the weekend.  To all the volunteers who helped out for the festival and also up at the Fair, a great big THANK YOU from us.
It would also be remiss of me not to thank Councillor Bob Millar and MBRC for their assistance with our festival. Dayboro Day Festival may not be a Council run event, but it would not run as successfully as it does without them, so THANK YOU.
It’s all about Community
DAYBORO MARKET:  The markets are going strong with some new stalls this year.  Proceeds from the 2014 markets have been dispersed as follows- $200 to Laps 4 Life, $3250.00 to QIMR (Qld Institute of Medical Research), and $1000.00 to Dayboro Churches Community Chest.  Our Market encourages visitors to our town who then frequent local businesses, and when they have such a lovely time, are keen to visit again and again each month.  The Market is also an opportunity for locals to sell their goods without having to venture too far from home.  The ultimate reward to the Dayboro Sunday Market is being able to provide much needed funds as already mentioned.
Fees for stalls are:  $15 for a 3m x 3m site.
For more information, please contact Lexie 3425 2260 or Steve 3425 2456.
SHED EXTENSION:  Wow, what a difference this has made to our storage problems.  Mark and Steve are like two little boys in a sand pit.  Plans are underway for shelving and a trailer is in the planning stages.  This will make our Market days so much easier to set up and put away.
