Property Offences

Overnight on 5th June an attempt was made to enter a business on Mt Mee Rd.
Around the 2nd June 2012 a whipper snipper and small axe were taken from a shed in Roderick Street.
In early June entry was attempted to the front door of a house in Bradley Street.
During daylight hours on 31st May entry was gained to a Heathwood Street residence and a push bike, coins and cameras stolen.
Between 25th and 27th May an esky was stolen from the back of a business in Williams Street
Between 21st and 22nd May there were a number of wilful damage offences in the Dayboro town area – shop windows in Williams Street; a vehicle, signage and fence in Bradley Street and a vehicle and fence in Morris Street.
On 21st May entry was forced to a residence in Toby Court and a computer game system and alcohol stolen.
Any person with information in relation to these or other offences is asked to contact Dayboro Police Station 34251200 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
Traffic issues
There were 8 traffic crashes in May, all involving injuries. Current enforcement priorities are speeding offences, drivers using mobile phones and seat belts.
A regular traffic complaint received at the station relates to drivers following too close on Dayboro Road and Mt Samson Road, often behind other vehicles that are already close to the speed limit. In recent times, with darkness coming earlier, the issue of impatient drivers using high beam behind another vehicle has also been mentioned. Stopping distances are obviously increased at higher speed and it is an offence to use high beam directly behind another driver. Infringements can be issued for both types of driver behaviour.
