JOHN AND VALERIE WIRTH July 09

– Golden Wedding Anniversary – 11 July 1959

It was the mid-`50s when a young Valerie Linnane from Dayboro caught the eye of a handsome, motorbike-riding farmer from Laceys Creek. After several years attending the local picture shows, dances and hooning around on the said motorbike, John and Valerie married at Nundah in 1959.
wirth_golden_anniv_60x90_150dpi.jpgThey purchased and built on John’s parents’ property at Laceys Creek, where they’ve remained to this day.  John changed from dairy farming to pineapple farming, a hard-working but successful career that saw them through for many years. Valerie was never afraid of facing the hard yards on the farm.  After retiring they had the opportunity to travel with family and friends to such far-flung places as Russia, Mexico, England and America. Their children, now aged 41 and 33, have been blessed to have such selfless, hard-working, optimistic role models as parents. When things have been tough, they’ve persevered where many people would have crumbled.  It is a testament to their relationship that they have spent more than 50 years together and still be so young at heart, fun-loving and happy. Thank you for enriching our lives and here’s to many more wonderful years!!

Love Natalie, Ricky and family.
