Feb2015_Mt Samson tops for Recycling
Students from Mt Samson State School have championed green thinking by recycling more than 4,000 litres of waste as part of Moreton Bay Regional Council’s waste minimisation program.
Division 11 Councillor Bob Millar congratulated the students on their achievements and presented the school with 20 sorting crates to help continue their recycling success.
“Together with council, Mt Samson’s students were able to identify and implement ways they could recycle more than a third of their waste and prevent more than 6,000 litres going to landfill,” Cr Millar said.
Cr Millar said the waste minimisation program was part of council’s $32.4 million commitment to waste programs in 2014-15.
“It’s part of council’s commitment to making the Moreton Bay Region sustainable and an even better place to live, learn, work and play.”
