Feb11 DAYBORO DISTRICT PROGRESS ASSOCIATION INC

ddpai_logo_colourjpg.jpgNext Dayboro Progress Assoc meeting will be Thursday 17 Feb at 6.30pm.
On behalf of the Dayboro District Progress Association Inc I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year.  Although it has started very traumatically and tragically, the circumstances have truly bought out the best in people, including here in our own little piece of the world.
It was wonderful to see the community spirit so alive.  Huge thanks to all those who helped in any way and our thoughts and best wishes to all those who were directly affected.
Our Community Calendar???  Due to unforeseen ‘volunteer’ circumstances we were unable to get the Calendar to the printer in time for delivery in early January.  However, by now you may have received it and will notice that it is a February to February Calendar so that our advertisers still have 12 months.  We apologise for any inconvenience but it could not be helped.
Who enjoyed Swaggie’s Christmas?  What a fantastic family event.  It was so good to watch all the families mingling and having a great time.  Our thanks to all those who contributed in organising the night, those who helped in any way, and to all the great performers for the entertainment, including Santa and his Rural Fire Brigade ‘sleigh’.  Looks like the Showgrounds will be the venue again Christmas 2011.
logo_say_gday_at_db_50x60_200dpi.jpgBefore we know it Dayboro Day will be here again!  To all the new residents of Dayboro, a great way to meet people is to join a committee and get involved.  We would love to hear from anyone, new residents or otherwise, who would like to help with Dayboro Day.  Any involvement would be greatly appreciated.  Just give me a call if you would like further information.
The Dayboro Market will continue this year, once again raising funds for the Queensland Cancer Council.  Although our team, Terah’s Turtles did not participate in the actual overnight Relay, we were still able to contribute $2421.00 to the event.  The market is held on the first Sunday of the month.  New stallholders are welcome.  A stall site will cost you $10.  Once again, please ring if you would like more information.
Our Progress Association meetings are an opportunity to represent the residents of the district and to liaise on their behalf with Government and other bodies.  We invite you to join us at our meetings to share in our objectives or to voice any concerns you may have.  Meetings are held at 28 Williams Street, at 6.30pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month – bi-monthly.
Thanks everyone for your support of the above events.  We are looking forward to another busy but friendly, fun-filled year.
Best Wishes
