Dog advice on your doorstep

Moreton Bay Regional Council will bring responsible dog ownership directly to its residents.  Mayor Allan Sutherland said the move was part of the council’s “Petsmart” program.
He said the program incorporated a K9 Clubhouse which was designed around the family dog and would be held on the first Sunday of every month in different off-leash parks around the region.

“During the two-hour program council’s pet education officers will offer free information and give away prizes for a range of activities including dog obedience skills,” Cr Sutherland said.
“Trained officers will be able to assist dog owners with problems they may face with their pets and dogs can be microchipped for the discounted price of $10.
“K9 Clubhouse will give dog owners an opportunity to seek expert advice on a range of issues and it’s part of council’s ongoing commitment to encouraging responsible pet ownership,” he said.
The K9 Clubhouse program will run from 9 am to 11 am at the following locations.
    April 5, Kroll Gardens, Duffield Road, Clontarf.
    May 3, Harris Avenue, Narangba.
    June 7, Olakuna Crescent, Ferny Hills.
    July, 5, Kroll Gardens, Duffield Road, Clontarf.
    August 2, Cosmos Park, Banksia Beach, Bribie Island.
    September 6, Nicol Way, Strathpine.
    October 4, Windlass Park, Deception Bay.
    November 1, Bunya Road, Bunya.
    December 6, Kroll Gardens, Duffield Road, Clontarf.
