Merry Christmas
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Dickson residents a safe Christmas and a prosperous 2014. As we all celebrate Christmas this year, I hope you spend valuable time with your family and friends to appreciate the great opportunities we have in Australia. I also ask that if you could please spare a thought this Christmas for our troops overseas as well as for those who are less fortunate than us. Please stay safe on the roads this Christmas and remember that driver fatigue is one of the leading causes of accidents.

Health update
As the year draws to a close, I wanted to highlight a number of achievements from 2013. The most pivotal being the change of government, which will ensure our country prospers. As the Minister for Health and the Minister for Sport I have been working hard to make sure we restore our health care system and bring credibility back to sport, as well as encouraging everyday Australians to get involved in local sport. So far, I have announced the addition of 50 new and amended medicines and technologies on to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme. These drugs will help treat cancer, diabetes and MS, as well as a number of other diseases , all of which will be subsidised by the government.
Locally I also announced a feasibility study, into the possibility of a Pine Rivers Hospital, which will be completed within the next 12 months.

Dickson Australia Day Community Awards
The Dickson Community Awards are presented each year on Australia Day. The awards recognise people who, through volunteer work or contributions, above and beyond their normal activities, have made our community a better place.
