Dec2010 COMMUNITY TO BENEFIT FROM CLASSIC CARS
The popular Car Show & Shine event at next year’s Pine Rivers Festival will not only please spectators, it also will benefit the community. The event is part of the annual Rodz Rock ’n Roll and a $20 registration fee will go towards community programs organised by the Rotary Club of Albany Creek.
The fee will also include a Rodz Rock ’n Roll cap for the owner of the registered vehicle and all entrants will go into a random prize draw.
Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Division Nine councillor Mike Charlton said up to 400 classic cars turned up for the annual event and the amount raised would be of great benefit to the service club.
“The Rotary club will use all the funds to support local programs like the chaplaincy program and special needs in schools. The club also supports international programs like the elimination of polio in Third World countries,” Cr Charlton said.
“Rotary funds its administration through club membership fees so all the monies raised from Car Show & Shine will be ploughed back into worthy causes.”
Registrations for Car Show & Shine opened on November 22 and Rodz Rock ‘n’ Roll is scheduled to take place at Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine on May 28 next year from 1pm to 9pm.
