OUR ARTIST OF THE MONTH FOR NOVEMBER IS DEE SOOVEERE.
Dee’s love of portraiture is evident in her work, whether it’s a portrait of one’s friends, a family member or a painting of our loyal pets (dogs, cats, horses).  A portrait painted in soft pastels for example creates a life like believable painting ‘ a living memory’ of a special moment captured in time.  A painting as opposed to a photograph reveals qualities in the subject otherwise not seen ie; the ‘ life ‘ in the eyes the personality, character, sensitivity or strength.
To watch Dee create a 3 dimensional living portrait on a flat canvas or board is truly remarkable.  A good clear photo and her pastels/ acrylics/ oils is all that Dee needs to be able to create a ‘ living portrait ‘ for you.  As well as commissioned portraits Dee paints other various non commissioned works which are on display at the Dayboro Community Gallery.
