DataDotDNA
Check this out on Dayboro Day!!!
Slogan: “Identify It. Id It”
A first for Dayboro! Come along and check this out on Dayboro Day – Sunday May 25.
The Id It project aims to increase the Community’s awareness about the importance of property marking and to increase the participation rate of property marking. Data Dot DNA is applied to property by squirting the dots on to the item like one would use a spray can. The spray application means it is less intrusive than engraving. It can be applied to antique furniture in unobtrusive areas i.e. between cushion and chair.
This is a powerful weapon against crime, having achieved a reputation as ‘DNA’ for cars, motorcycles, plants (Yes! That’s right! Do read on. . .) and any asset commonly targeted by thieves. DataDotDNA features thousands of tiny microdots (the size of a grain of sand) all laser etched with the matching identification details e,g, VIN, HIN or serial numbers or with a unique PIN. Police and Volunteers in Policing will be there to show you how easy it is.
DataDotDNA has been used on many makes of vehicles including: Audi, BMW, Lexus and Sabaru.
DataDotDNA is just like our DNA. It contains specific and unique information. Once property has been marked, a personal DataDotDNA PIN etched on each microdot, is registered on the DataDotDNA National register for secure storage and access by law-enforcement agencies. Special warning stickers are provided to highlight an asset has been marked, to deter attempted theft. The product has been tested and recognized by insurers, government and law enforcement agencies worldwide.
If you have ever walked through the Brisbane Botanical Gardens and seen signs saying that these plants have DataDotDNA, then come down to the police stand on Dayboro Day and discover for yourself why Brisbane City Council is using DataDotDNA to save Council about $20,000 in theft per year. You can use it on white goods, recreational equipment, maintenance equipment, office equipment and entertainment equipment.
Also on hand will be Recruitment Officers to discuss joining the QPS family and Crimestoppers Van.
All this and more on DAYBORO DAY at the POLICE DISPLAY.
