COUNCIL PROVIDES FLOOD DAMAGE COLLECTION SERVICE June09

mbrc_logo2__47x14mm_96dpi.jpgMoreton Bay region residents affected by the recent floods can register to have flood-damaged household waste collected via a kerbside collection service.
The service is limited to flood affected residents only and does not cover green waste.
Mayor Allan Sutherland said affected residents just needed to call 3205 0555 to register for the service.
“The service is designed to assist their recovery from last week’s major deluge,” he said.
“Some residents in the Moreton Bay Regional Council area were hit very hard with many large household items damaged.  This kerbside collection service will allow them to easily dispose of these items.”
Residents who register for the service will need place their waste on the footpath by Monday, June 8.
Collection services will then run from Tuesday, June 9 to Friday, June 12.
Materials should be neatly placed on the footpath away from letterboxes, power poles, fences and other structures or services.  In the interest of community safety, doors should be removed from large items such as fridges.
Residents can also continue to dispose of waste free-of-charge at Moreton Bay region tips and waste transfer stations.
